What Makes CANOPY Coworking Space Different?

Hi there! I’m Raden, the Senior Community Manager at CANOPY Jackson Square. Touring our flagship San Francisco coworking space with prospective new Members is one of my favorite parts of my job because I get to answer the question: “What makes CANOPY special?”

Today, I’ll share why our Members rank CANOPY’s shared and private offices as the best in the Bay!

Why not book a tour and experience the CANOPY difference for yourself? I’d love to show you in person.

Location, Location, Location!

CANOPY offers various locations in some of the Bay Area’s most desirable zip codes, placing you steps from some of the city’s best restaurants and bars, entertainment, and green space. Our flagship location is our Jackson Square shared office space, which also offers private offices minutes from SF’s downtown. CANOPY shared office space in FiDi has two stories that provide full-floor and smaller private offices. CANOPY Pacific Heights is our first and most intimate SF shared office space, located on Fillmore amid the neighborhood’s best places to shop and dine, while our newest and most expansive location, CANOPY Menlo Park at the new Springline development is ideally positioned for living and working in Silicon Valley.

CANOPY is also part of Global Collective, an alliance of workspace operators who share a passion for thoughtful design, upscale amenities, and curated experiences. For two days per month, CANOPY members have access to all Global Collective spaces around the world, including Blender (Manhattan), The New Work Project (Brooklyn), Fora (London), and The Bureau (Paris).

Distinctive Design

Our office environments affect how we think and feel, and profoundly influence our productivity. Every element of each location has been thoughtfully considered to provide members with functional, ergonomic, and emotional space to do their best work. Cofounder Yves Béhar has designed workstations and chairs for Herman Miller for more than a decade, and CANOPY’s private offices and open-plan workspaces are furnished with the latest iterations of these designs, along with Yves’ own Public Office Landscape desks and Sayl chairs.

Every CANOPY location features marble and solid wood materials and abundant natural light — here at Jackson Square, we enjoy expansive outdoor terraces with gorgeous views of the nearby Transamerica Building and city on both floors. Each location also has a color palette that references our surroundings. The pinks and greens at Jackson Square are a nod to the copper patina of the century-old emerald green roof of Francis Ford Coppola’s Sentinel building across the street, and the soft blush of City Lights Bookstore, one block over.

Flexible Memberships and Office Space That Scales With You!

CANOPY Members can choose from a suite of Membership options to suit their evolving needs. Memberships give you access to a range of coworking environments, from a single floating desk for “hotdesking” to private offices that can accommodate entire startups. Each location offers conference rooms, lounge areas where you can meet and talk, shared kitchens, and coffee bars. Here at Jackson Square, our full-time barista Brian is always ready with some friendly conversation as he keeps you caffeinated!

Turnkey Sustainable Amenities, Five-Star Concierge Service

CANOPY offers turnkey memberships with concierge-style amenities where all your staffing needs are taken care of, from reception and mail room staff to janitorial services and lighting and heating expenses. Because we manage furnishings and amenities, there’s also no need to plan for renovations or to upgrade your chairs and desks. My team and I are here for whatever you need, whether you want to book a photographer for headshots, or caterers when you host a lunch for investors or collaborators. We can source outside talents like opera singers and musicians or curate panelists to enrich the conversation. Just let us know!

A Creative Community

CANOPY is more than a workplace—it’s where a vibrant and creative community of members gather to inspire and be inspired. Our Jackson Square community is a dynamic mix of early-stage founders in various sectors, such as health, design, AI, established VCs, entrepreneurs, and legal professionals. This vibrant blend creates an ideal environment for expanding your network and enhancing social currency. Members can leverage CANOPY’s versatile spaces and full-service production expertise for meetings and presentations. Even if you’re not a Member — yet! — you’re welcome to attend and host events held in our spaces as part of our community. Meet some of our Members on our Journal page, and add your email at the bottom if you’d like to receive our newsletter.

Event Programming

At CANOPY, we curate diverse thought-provoking topics to explore each quarter, including the future of transportation, AI, sustainability, and community collaboration. We have the privilege of hosting renowned speakers who often grace the TED Talk stage, allowing you to hear them speak firsthand and engage in meaningful conversations afterward in an intimate setting.

We sponsor monthly events with National Geographic Explorers when scientists and researchers present on topics open to the public and posted on our website. Another highlight has been collaborating with Next Ventūres, co-founded by Lance Armstrong and Meg Strong, and CANOPY member Julian Eison as Managing Partner. Of the 200 attendees, 50 were selected to take a bike tour with Armstrong the following day. Join us for one of our upcoming Events!
