We’re excited to welcome two speakers with experience at California ISO, which manages the flow of electricity on high-voltage power lines, operates a wholesale energy market, and oversees infrastructure planning.
- Michael Kahn, Commission on Catastrophic Wildfire Cost and Recovery
Mr. Kahn practiced environmental and energy law in the Bay Area, acting as lead counsel on many landmark cases and matters and serving three California governors during California’s energy crisis of the 2000s. He was chairman of the Electricity Oversight Board and CAISO under Governors Davis and Schwarzenegger.

Mr. Haines has been the Principal at Grid & Power Symmetry since 2021. He was the first general manager for California Community Power, a deputy general manager for State Water Contractors, and a deputy director at the Department of Water Resources. He was the special assistant to the chairman of the board at CAISO.
