Fashion contributes significantly to climate change. McKinsey research shows that the sector was responsible for 4 percent of the global total of GHGs (GreenhouseGas emissions). This does not include the chemical pollutants in water systems that affect the health of those who rely on them. Â
In order to meet the 2015 Paris Climate agreement, fashion would need to cut its GHG emissions to 1.1 billion metric tons of CO2 equivalent by 2030.Â
