001 Creative Minds at Work

Transcending the design is a collective of brilliant minds pursuing their unique visions. Whether it’s finding inspiration at one of our cultural programmings or an impromptu brainstorm session in the lounge, CANOPY is what our members make of it, and what they make from it. Here’s a glimpse of what some of our members are creating.

002 Resin

The nimble and creative ad agency known as RESIN has long called San Francisco home, albeit second to their Marin County stomping grounds. When we opened our doors at the end of 2016, we invited Tim Paschke and his colleagues to claim a bit of territory under our newly built CANOPY inSan Francisco. Always bustling and active within the space, this team focuses on creative journeys via branded campaigns in lifestyle, tech, healthcare and finance. We ask them how they define their sense of design thinking and how this place has faired as anew port of call for RESIN in 2017.

003 Paradox

Elise Gabriel is one of the latest additions to CANOPY in Pacific Heights, and she has the motivated intention to disrupt the beauty industry in a positive way. Paradox, her latest brain child, is a luxe and millennial brand focused on organic skincare that makes clean beauty the norm and not just a gimmick. As the new founder of a beauty care startup, she is has scrutinized the norms in the skincare/beauty industries and has focused all her energy on how these norms can be challenged for the betterment of women’s skin health and self-image.

004 Caffeinated Capital

Safe to say “caffeinated” speaks to a certain energy that has Raymond Tongsing inspired and always moving. Ironically he drinks the least amount of coffee around here. He’s an active VC, and by “active” we also mean he runs and bikes more than anyone here at CANOPY. We see him zipping around in sneakers, plugging away here or there on his laptop, and you can tell he’s a performance-driven man. As we’ve come to learn, Raymond clearly understands the importance of nurturing talent, intellect and cultivating business in the right soil. After all, cultivating is the essence of his work…

Think of what Cable/TV keeps proffering against everything you can now stream through your computer or mobile device these days. The best quality content, and impact for that matter, is found right in the palm of our hands. Curated, and on demand, this is the brave new world of content and media that Cary Grant is a part of. Considerate of industry giants, the likes of Netfix, HBO and VICE, Cary still knows there’s a ton of work to be created and distributed in this space. It’s more about distilling, nurturing an audience and understanding a greater cultural shift in the tide. He tells us more about his recent work via PREMO and what’s soon to come. PQ: “It’s inspiring to be part of this era…

006 Amanda & Jane

We take the time to get to know our neighbors, and we’ve found that behind every curated storefront we admire is a business owner with a compelling story. Amanda Michael is a perfect example of that: One of many entrepreneurs on Fillmore Street, she brings the neighborhood together over her house-made pastries and hand-pulled espressos. Get to know her and the goodness behind Jane—one of the best neighboring spots.
