The Fight Against Food and Resource Waste

The world’s food system is a major cause of climate change. Environmentalism is of crucial importance in 2019, but most people are unaware that fighting climate change can be most effective from the kitchen. CANOPY is hosting a panel on 12/17 to highlight the leading innovators in the fight against food and resource waste. These people are leading the charge to make it easier for businesses and individuals alike to be more green, and will share insight on how lessening your impact doesn’t have to change your lifestyle.

Zuleyka Strasner is the Founder and CEO of Zero, the first online, plastic-free grocery store. An avid zero-waster, Zuleyka is passionate about the impact that individuals can have in fighting climate change. She has also previously held positions with Felicis Ventures, Varo, and with the UK’s Labour Party.

Molly Moore is the co-founder of SUPER (Single-Use Plastic Elimination or Reduction), a nonprofit enabling businesses to eliminate single-use plastics through footprinting technology and a tiered certification program. With an MBA in Sustainable Systems from Presidio Graduate School, Molly has an extensive track record helping companies reduce environmental impacts while increasing employee engagement and saving money.

Amy Webster is an avid environmentalist who currently serves as Zume’s Manager of Content and Social Media.  Zume’s mission is to create a smarter and more sustainable food system. Zume uses real-time food consumption data and predictive analytics to help food companies better predict demand, connect it with production and drive better resource decisions down the food supply chain.
